Shots Fired at Anglers’ Fundraiser Tournament

More unfortunate and chilling news out of Percy Priest Lake in Tennessee, according to News Channel 5 Network

During a fundraising tournament orchestrated to increase the reward for last month’s murder of Tennessee angler Gregg Hawkins, a copper-colored Dodge vehicle entered the Smith Springs Public Use Area at Saturday at 8 a.m. and fired shots at tournament anglers fishing on the lake. Shell casings were reportedly found at the scene. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.

One of the anglers, Robert Bogdal, turned around after hearing several gunshots and saw the Dodge parked on the boat ramp. That’s when someone from the passenger side began firing more shots towards the water.

So far, the only evidence police have found are the shell casings recovered at the scene. No specific descriptions have been given for the vehicle or the shooter(s).

Remember, the murder of Gregg Hawkins is still unsolved and police need your help. If you know anything about what happened, or the shots fired this weekend, please call (615) 893-7867.
