Youth Leadership Fishing Camp Offered in TX

Bass Brigade Youth Leadership camp is part of the Texas Brigades system. They take 24 of the top 13 to 17-year-old students who apply and invite them to spend a week at a private ranch in Texas. Legendary professional bass angler Gary Klein (click here to watch Gary teach about being a thorough angler) teaches them about his experiences tournament angling, how to modify lures, flipping, pitching, and sonar use. The students also fish a tournament against him.

The rest of the instructors are private biologists, Texas Parks and Wildlife staff, and high school educators. They teach aquatic plant identification, sampling techniques like electrofishing, fish anatomy, food chains, and fisheries management.

Every student leaves camp with gear from the sponsors including Berkley Fishing, Major League Fishing, Duckett Fishing, LunkerBox.com, Tackle Warehouse, Eagle Claw Fishing, and Rapala.

They also give four returning students scholarships sponsored by Repel, Power-Pole®, Gary Klein, and Triton Boats,
