Award-Winning Ink: Wired2fish Contributor Brent Frazee Wins Big for his Fish Stories

Brent Frazee Wins EIC Awards

I’ve had the privilege of editing Brent Frazee for a while now, and reading his articles for much longer, and I’m always impressed with how well he covers a subject. Frazee gets the story behind the story, capturing the details in a way that can only come from a lifetime of journalism. From authoritative how-to pieces with living legends, matter-of-fact reporting on current issues, to human interest stories that remind us all what time in the outdoors is all about, Frazee can do it all.

Recently, the Outdoor Writers Association of America recognized him with Excellence in Craft awards for a number of articles he penned for Wired2fish in 2024. And frankly, we couldn’t be prouder.

Frazee’s work took home honors across multiple categories, demonstrating not only his versatility as a writer but his deep understanding of the outdoors and the folks who love it. He earned:

These awards are not just a reflection of Frazee’s skill with a keyboard, they’re a testament to his lifelong passion for the outdoors, his commitment to storytelling, and his ability to connect with anglers of all backgrounds. Whether he’s writing about cutting-edge techniques, record-breaking catches, or the simple joy of fishing with family, Frazee brings clarity, warmth, and authority to every piece.

It’s far from Frazee’s first time on the podium. During his career, he has won more than 50 state, regional and national awards for his writing and photography. He received a lifetime achievement award from the Outdoor Writers Association of America in 2014, and was inducted into the Waterfowlers Hall of Fame in 2015.

We are honored to have Frazee contribute to Wired2fish, and we’re excited to see what else he might come up with in the months ahead. These awards are well-deserved, and they underscore what we’ve known for a long time: Brent Frazee is one of the best in the business.

Congratulations, Brent!
