Professional walleye angler John Hoyer takes his first look at three new Berkley baits designed to change the game for walleye fishing. Filmed in the Glacial Lakes region of South Dakota, this on-the-water session features the Berkley Ripfish, Berkley Power Vibe, and Berkley Rawler Jig in action.

Ripfish Walleye Action

Hoyer begins with the Ripfish, a minnow-shaped bait with rattles, vibration, and a darting side-to-side action. In just a few twitches, it produced aggressive strikes from weed-holding walleye. The unique blend of sound and movement proved hard for fish to ignore, giving him immediate confidence in the lure’s design.

Power Vibe Performance

Next, Hoyer switches to the Power Vibe, a flatsided bait built for maximum action. With tight vibration and quick response to rod twitches, it quickly drew multiple fish into chasing. The aggressive bites showed how effective this lure can be when walleye are feeding in schools or reacting to sudden bursts of motion.

Rawler Jig Innovation

Finally, Hoyer highlights the Rawler Jig, a patent-pending design featuring a built-in ball bearing swivel. Combined with a bent hook and optimized head shape, the jig allows water to flow freely and produce a natural spinning motion. Even with a soft plastic crawler, the Rawler Jig delivered convincing bites, making it a strong option for tournament anglers.
