Garmin Introduces quatix 8 Pro Nautical Smartwatch With inReach Connectivity

Garmin quatix 8 Pro Nautical Smartwatch

Garmin has announced the new quatix® 8 Pro, a premium nautical smartwatch designed to keep anglers and boaters connected on the water—even when cell service disappears. Featuring built-in inReach satellite and cellular connectivity, the quatix 8 Pro allows users to text, make voice calls, share their location, and trigger SOS alerts without relying on a smartphone.

Built specifically for life on the water, the quatix 8 Pro comes in a 47mm case with a bright 1.4-inch AMOLED display, a durable titanium bezel, and a scratch-resistant sapphire lens. Garmin says the watch delivers up to 15 days of battery life in smartwatch mode, making it a dependable companion for long days on the water and beyond.

“From fishing to fitness, wakesurfing to weight lifting, quatix 8 Pro helps keep mariners connected through every part of their day— even when bringing a smartphone isn’t practical or possible,” said Susan Lyman, Garmin vice president of consumer sales and marketing. “With satellite and LTE connectivity on the wrist, mariners can feel more at ease knowing they can stay in touch or get help if needed.”

Stay Connected Offshore

With built-in inReach technology (subscription required), quatix 8 Pro allows anglers to send messages, share location check-ins, and receive weather updates via satellite—up to 50 miles offshore. Cellular connectivity adds voice calling, voice messaging, and LiveTrack location sharing. In an emergency, users can trigger an SOS alert that connects them with the 24/7 Garmin Response coordination center.

Enhanced Boat Mode

One of the most notable upgrades is enhanced boat mode, which automatically prioritizes marine-specific apps when you’re on the water. From autopilot control to trolling motor data, essential boat functions are front and center on the watch face. Once you’re back on land, everyday apps and features return to focus.

Loaded with Marine and Lifestyle Features

Designed to work seamlessly with Garmin marine electronics, the quatix 8 Pro offers chartplotter voice commands (Bluetooth required), remote control of onboard entertainment and lighting systems, Force trolling motors, and more. Off the water, it includes 24/7 health and wellness tracking, navigation tools, Garmin Pay, and support for over 100 activities, including wakesurfing and water skiing.

The Garmin quatix 8 Pro will be available starting January 16, 2026, with a suggested retail price of $1,299.99. For more information, visit garmin.com.
