Fisherman Dies While Tending Trotlines

Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries are investigating a single vessel fatality that occurred on Nov. 3 in Rapides Parish.

Agents recovered the body of Lee R. Haynes, 56, of Lena, from Kincaid Lake and turned his body over to the Rapides Parish Coroner’s Office to determine an official cause of death.

Agents were notified about an abandoned vessel in Kincaid Lake. Agents believe that Haynes was setting out fishing lines when he fell overboard and was unable to get back in the vessel.

LDWF will be the lead investigative agency for this boating fatality. Haynes’ body was found without a personal flotation device.
