In a move aimed at enhancing control and precision for saltwater kayak fishing enthusiasts, Minn Kota announced the launch of its new Riptide Kayak Terrova trolling motor. The new system, available now, is engineered specifically to withstand harsh saltwater environments while providing anglers with advanced GPS capabilities to maintain their position on the water.
The Riptide Kayak Terrova is designed to give anglers hands-free control of their vessel, allowing them to focus on fishing rather than fighting currents or wind. The motor is equipped with an advanced GPS trolling system that includes features such as Spot-Lock, which holds the kayak in a precise location, as well as Autopilot, Drift Mode, and Follow Mode for automated navigation. Control of these features is accessible through a wireless Micro Remote, a connected Humminbird fish finder, or the One-Boat Network App on a mobile device.
Durability in corrosive marine environments is a central feature of the new motor. The lower unit housing is grit-blasted and coated in aluminum to prevent oxidation and rust. The motor is built with a durable 36-inch composite shaft and a weedless propeller, designed to handle challenging conditions. The unit is powered by a 12-volt system, delivering 55 pounds of thrust.
“The Riptide Kayak Terrova is built to elevate the saltwater kayak fishing experience,” said Hannah O’Connor, Brand Manager at Minn Kota. “With Minn Kota’s trusted precision control, plug-and-play Humminbird integration, and Spot-Lock to hold your kayak in place, anglers can fish longer and more efficiently, keeping their kayak exactly where they need it.”
The Minn Kota Riptide Kayak Terrova is now available to kayakers with a manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $1,899.99.
