Minn Kota Introduces New Kayak Trolling Motor

Minn Kota Kayak Terrova

Minn Kota, a company with decades of experience in trolling motor innovation, is bringing its proven technology to kayak anglers.

For 2025, the company launched its new Kayak Terrova trolling motor for freshwater enthusiasts. We got to see the new trolling motor firsthand at this year’s ICAST in Orlando. The motor is designed to offer kayakers effortless and reliable boat control, putting GPS navigation right at their fingertips.

The company’s goal is to allow anglers to focus on fishing rather than steering or navigating their motor all day. Who hasn’t had to fight against a heavy wind or current when they really wanted to cast to a fishing spot that was slipping away? It’s frustrating!

Minn Kota’s Kayak Terrova is built for anglers seeking an improved on-water experience. The eletric motor features Minn Kota’s trusted GPS trolling system, which includes Spot-Lock (a digital anchor), as well as Autopilot and Drift Mode. These functions help make boat positioning — even against a current — a simple task. The system also includes One-Boat Network integration, which allows it to connect with Humminbird fish finders for real-time control. You’ll also want to download the One-Boat Network app to your phone.

According to Hannah O’Connor, a brand manager for Minn Kota, the new motor is meant to help anglers be more effective and productive on the water.

“The Kayak Terrova brings Minn Kota’s trusted innovation to the kayak fishing world, giving anglers an intuitive, easy way to stay on fish,” O’Connor said. “Whether you’re locking onto a spot, drifting with precision, or navigating hands-free, this motor is designed to help you fish smarter—not harder.”

The 12-volt, 55-pound-thrust motor is equipped with a Digital Maximizer to extend battery life, a composite 36-inch shaft for durability, and a weedless prop. Pick a lithium motor that has at least a 100 amp-hour (Ah) run time. With a simple lever, anglers can stow and deploy the motor.

Anglers can control their position from anywhere on the kayak using the included Micro Remote, the One-Boat Network App, or a connected Humminbird fish finder. The Kayak Terrova is backed by a two-year warranty and was available starting in March, priced at $1,499.99.
