John Cox Re-Signs Engine Partnership with Mercury Marine

Mercury Marine, a division of Brunswick Corporation (NYSE: BC), today announced that professional angler John Cox has re-signed with the brand and will continue running Mercury outboards in tournament competition. Cox, one of the most versatile and accomplished anglers in professional bass fishing, has a long history of success powered by Mercury engines.

A Mercury Pro Team member for17 years, Cox has relied on Mercury’s legendary performance and reliability throughout his career on both the Bassmaster Elite Series and Major League Fishing Bass Pro Tour. Known for his relentless shallow-water fishing style and approachable personality, Cox has become a fan favorite and one of the sport’s most consistent competitors earning multiple tournament wins and top 10 finishes across professional circuits.

“Mercury has been a part of my career since the very beginning and I’m thrilled to continue my relationship with this incredible brand,” said Cox. “Re-signing with Mercury for 2026 season will make it 17 years with most reputable outboard engine in the world. Over his professional career, Cox has earned more than $3 million in career earnings, with multiple FLW Tour wins, a Forrest Wood Cup in 2016, and numerous Bassmaster Elite Series top finishes, all while powered by Mercury. His consistent success and down-to-earth approach have made him one of the most respected and admired figures in competitive bass fishing.
