Guntersville Fishing Tournament Cheaters Sentenced

The two anglers we reported about back in May 2014 that cheated in a night tournament on Lake Guntersville were found guilty and sent to jail Monday, Sep. 15, 2014 according to the report on WAFF.com.

Gary Minor Jr. of Albertville, Ala. and Robert Gillaspie of Boaz, Ala., were charged with Tampering with a Sporting Contest in May. They were sentenced on Monday to a 1-year suspended jail sentence if they serve 30 days, complete 400 hours of community service at the Lake Guntersville State Park and pay $1,000 each plus court costs.

They were sent to jail Monday. They are allowed to make a $1,000 appeal bond, however, a condition of their release on bond would be that they forfeit their hunting and fishing privileges.
