WON U.S. Open Day One Cancelled

In keeping with their commitment to maintaining the safety of their competitors, WON Bass Officials have cancelled day one of the 2021 WON Bass U.S. Open presented by Bass Cat Boats and Mercury due to the predictions of extremely strong winds and small craft advisories for Lake Mead.

As the event grew closer, weather predictions were calling for sustained winds to 25MPH, with gusts that could exceed 40MPH, this left Tournament Director Bill Egan no choice but to make the call. “None of us want to see a day of an event like the WON U.S. Open cancelled, but there really was no other decision to make,” said Egan. “The safety of our anglers and friends is paramount, so we made the call to cancel Monday’s fishing and make it a two-day championship.”

With the cancelation of competition Monday, October 11, the first day of the 2021 WON Bass US Open is scheduled to commence on Tuesday October 12 and the final round will occur on Wednesday October 13. Take off from Callville Bay Marina at safe light with daily weigh-ins from the floating docks at Callville Bay Marina on Lake Mead beginning approximately 2:00PM Pacific.

On the final day, the pro winner will receive the keys to a 2021 Bass Cat Puma FTD powered by a Mercury Pro XS 250 Four Stroke outboard valued at $64,000 and cash prizes. The live weigh-in broadcast, presented by Life Source Water Systems will bring you the weigh-in at Callville Bay Marina, access the activity at http://www.wonbassevents.com, and on the WON Bass Facebook page.
