About Abu Garcia Zenon X
The Abu Garcia Zenon X Low Profile Reel is engineered as a high-performance workhorse that balances an ultra-compact form factor with heavy-duty durability. According to official Abu Garcia specifications, it features a one-piece X2-Cräftic alloy frame and C6 carbon sideplates, allowing the reel to remain incredibly rigid for power fishing while weighing in at a mere 5.5 ounces.
To ensure smooth operation under pressure, it is equipped with 9 stainless steel HPCR bearings plus one roller bearing, alongside an aircraft-grade aluminum main gear and a Carbon Matrix drag system capable of providing 15 pounds of maximum drag.
Designed for precision and ergonomics, the Zenon X utilizes the IVCB-4 (Infinitely Variable Centrifugal Brake) system, which offers external adjustments for superior casting control across a wide range of lure weights. Its recessed reel foot allows it to sit lower on the rod for better “palmability,” while the Infini II spool design and Ti-coated line guide work together to minimize friction and maximize casting distance.
Available in both 6.8:1 and high-speed 8.3:1 gear ratios for right and left-hand retrieves, the reel is finished with a compact bent carbon handle and flat EVA knobs to provide a comfortable, lightweight interface for all-day use.
