But the Alovis family also owns and runs LensDirect that’s been around for decades; LensDirect is one of the largest online retailers for contact lenses, prescription glasses, and lens replacement services (where you send in your old frames to get new lenses). In fact, the CEO of LensDirect is Ryan Alovis, another son of Allen Alovis. Island Optics Tech
Island Optics has ten current sunglass frame designs, offered in prescription and non-prescription options. Their proprietary lens system, known as OX2, is the core of the brand, offered as both polycarbonate (OX2-P) for lightweight impact resistance and mineral glass (OX2-G) for better scratch resistance and clarity.
Every lens comes standard with anti-reflective, hydrophobic (water-repellent), oleophobic (oil/smudge-resistant), and anti-scratch coatings. Island Optics Angler sunglasses have features like Gator Grip (anti-slip material on the nose pads and temple tips) and built-in venting to prevent all-too-common fogging.
