VMC Introduces RedLine Series Hooks

When you’re obsessed with creating the world’s best fishing hooks, nothing will stop you until you’ve pushed all your limits to achieve your goal. That’s when you cross the RedLine.

Welcome to VMC’s new RedLine Series of hooks. Comprised of eight hooks, this series is designed for tournament bass anglers who need to turn up the heat from a “10” to an “11.”

The RedLine Series are ultra-engineered hooks built for optimum power, strength and hook-up percentage. With velvety-smooth P.T.F.E. coating, RedLine hooks penetrate 50% faster than ordinary hooks. Combined with the company’s unique, compressed needle point design that produces an ultra-sharp point, fish practically hook themselves.

And once they’re on, they stay on. VMC RedLine Series hooks are made with Vanadium® Steel, making them 25% stronger than ordinary fishing hooks. This extra-light, extra-strength material is the same material used to make Formula One race cars. It’s so light and subtle, bass don’t even realize they’ve been caught until it’s too late.

“In my opinion you can have the best equipment in boats, motors, electronics, baits, rods, reels and line but if you cut corners on your hook you will fail,” said Gerald “G-Man” Swindle, a member of the Rapala pro team and a two-time Bassmaster Angler of the Year (2014, 2016). “The most important piece of the puzzle to tie all of that equipment together is the hook that you tie on. The VMC RedLine is the ultimate fishing hook.”

To top it off, RedLine Series hooks are packaged with a super convenient Hook-Lok System that will immediately make you 100% more organized. The Hook-Lok System reduces your time in grabbing a hook and tying it on. That means more time fishing for you.

Tournament Tested and Proven

VMC RedLine Series hooks represent the perfect example of trickle-down technology. This is what happens when a hook company starts thinking like a tech company.

VMC created the RedLine Series alongside the best anglers in the world such as Jacob Wheeler, Seth Feider, Mike Iaconelli, Davy Hite, Gerald Swindle, Cody Huff, Bob Downey, Patrick Walters and Ott Defoe – a crew that is not easily impressed.

Working in collaboration with these pros, VMC engineers created a line-up of RedLine hooks that anticipates any scenario that anglers encounter when money is on the line. The RedLine Series consists of eight new hooks, available in just the right sizes, which include:

  • Heavy-Duty Flippin’ Hooks, sizes 3/0, 4/0 and 5/0
  • Hybrid Wide Gap Hooks, sizes 2/0, 3/0, 4/0 and 5/0
  • Wacky Neko Hooks, sizes 6, 4, 2, 1, and 1/0
  • Finesse Neko Hooks, sizes 6, 4, 2, 1, and 1/0
  • Weedless Wacky Neko Hooks, sizes 2, 1 and 1/0
  • Dropshot Hooks, sizes 4, 2, 1 and 1/0
  • Hybrid Worm Hooks, sizes 1/0, 2/0, 3/0, 4/0 and 5/0
  • Finesse Treble Hooks, sizes 5, 4 and 3

VMC and their elite group of anglers have put in the work to bring the most impressive lineup of hooks the world has ever seen. The RedLine Series was designed to meet tournament bass anglers wherever they’re at — from dropshotting with light line to punching hydrilla matts with heavy braid and everything in between. Landing more fish with treble hooked baits is as simple as upgrading to RedLine treble hooks that sport the perfect blend of strength, sharpness, barb and perfectly shaped bends and angles.

Testing VMC RedLine Series hooks under real-life bass tournament conditions has allowed VMC engineers to continue to refine these hooks to achieve maximum results for tournament anglers.

Rapala pro and 2019 Bassmaster Classic Champion Ott Defoe uses a simple rule to judge the gear and lures he relies upon for his tournament success: “My goal is to land as many bites as possible! Simple but true,” he said. “Once you’ve done your part as the angler (getting a fish to bite) the hook has to do its job to complete the task of catching a bass. That’s why I’m so excited about VMC’s new RedLine hooks.

Ready for Anything

“A great line of hooks contains just the right amount of versatility to be able to adjust your hook shape and size depending on your preferred technique for that day,” said Rapala pro and Bassmaster Elite angler Bob Downey. “With the VMC RedLine Series, we’ve achieved that versatility and reliability with proven hook shapes and high-end materials.”

“With all of today’s modern fishing advancements and new technologies, the one link between the angler and the fish is still the hook,” said Rapala pro Davy Hite, the 1999 Bassmaster Classic Champion and two-time B.A.S.S. Angler of the Year, “Don’t settle for anything less than the best hook.”
