Minn Kota

From their Mankato headquarters right down from Fargo, North Dakota, where O.G. Schmidt invented the first gear-driven electric trolling motor in 1934, Minn Kota marine equipment is built on the border of Minnesota and North Dakota still today, hence the iconic name based on the border of MINN-esota Da-KOTA. The idea of the first electric trolling motors took off with anglers looking for more boat control, and Schmidt named his growing company for the land he called home.

Fast forward nearly 90 years and the Minn Kota brand is synonymous with first technologies and some of the best trolling motors, chargers, anchors and other marine gear in the industry. You can learn more about Minn Kota technologies here.
