Crankbaits are designed to dive down and wobble but you’ll get more out of your crankbaits by adding a little imagination to your retrieve. “You’ve got to make that bait do different things to get those fish to react” Mike says. Speeding up your retrieve, making contact with bottom, ricocheting off rocks and adding pauses are good ways to trigger curiosity from bass. Mike also mentions a tweak he’ll do to adjust crankbait buoyancy and get bass to bite in cooler water temps.
