The popularity of prop-style topwaters such as the Teckel USA Sprinker Frog and Whopper Plopper has given way to homemade alternatives that function the same. John Crews shares how he modifies the legendary SPRO Bronzeye Frog by adding a piece of wire, swivel, and spinning boot tail from a swimbait.

This is an easy, durable modification of a proven hollow body frog; you can be confident in getting consistent hookups while having the ability to experiment widely with the trailing plastic.
