How to Perfectly Thread Trailers on Bladed Jigs

The trailer is arguably the most important part of a bladed jig from an attraction standpoint. Rigging your trailer off-center causes the bait to ride too high or too low, so Andy Montgomery shares a trick for getting a perfect thread every time.

The method involves over-threading the trailer first so that it's bowed up. Montgomery then demonstrates how to draw the plastic back down to a perfectly straight position by placing a thumb and two fingers on each side of the trailer.

"Why over-thread" you might ask? Because it's nearly impossible to thread to the perfect depth every time. You can easily correct an over-threaded trailer, but not an under-threaded one.
