We’ve long been fans of the Tufts Lab Facebook page. If you’re an angler who’s interested in the biological aspect of the sport, we highly recommend watching the video below.
According to the original post, the lab crew headed to Lake Ontario to get some answers on a hotly debated topic: If an angler catches male smallmouth from its nest and quickly returns it, will gobies eat the fry? How long will it take for the gobies to encroach on the nest? These questions have long been at the center of bed-fishing debates over the years and the footage this team was able to collect is incredibly interesting and provides a bit more clarity.
