Detect Crappie “Lift” Bites Through the Ice

Mike Olson of Fish Addictions TV gives us a great tutorial on detecting subtle panfish bites through the ice. Bluegill and crappie are notorious for feeding up, and sucking the bait in similar to a bass (negative pressure). This results in bites that are virtually undetectable by feel, so bite detection becomes a function of watching your electronics, then seeing movement in your fishing rod tip. Follow the tips provided here to increase your panfish catch through the ice.
