Sea Foam Marine PRO Review

Wired2fish

I'll be the first person to admit that I'm not big on the "look at me" part of fishing these days. While I certainly appreciate all these brand new boats being sold, I've decided to stick with my 21-year-old bass boat because it's paid for. If I can get use out of something without making payments, I'm all for it.

With that being said, however, I do have to be a bit more cognizant about maintenance and upkeep with my older boat. I do take good care of it, so I've been very particular about its upkeep over the years. Last year I started using Sea Foam Marine PRO fuel treatment and I'll be totally honest with you - I have had outstanding results so far.

I'll quickly go over the benefits I've noticed since using this new fuel treatment.

Much less smoke than before

I've been really happy with my motor since I bought this boat, but it does like to smoke. From what I've researched, it's just kind of the nature of the beast with this particular motor. Since I started using Sea Foam Marine PRO, however, it barely smokes anymore. It will huff and puff for a little bit when I first take it off the trailer, but after my first run it seems to be running a lot cleaner and smoother.

My motor has never run better

I know it sounds cliche, but my motor has never run better. Seriously.

I've noticed a definite improvement in my hole shot and have even gained a few miles per hour on my top speed. Perhaps most notable has been my motor's performance at idle speed. I spend a considerable amount of time graphing offshore structure, especially in the summer while I'm looking for striped bass in deep water. I was beginning to get a little frustrated by my motor coughing and choking itself out when I took my foot off the Hot Foot pedal. It's hard to get a clear picture on your graph if your boat keeps cutting off.

To the best of my memory, I have not had that problem since using Sea Foam Marine PRO. Maybe it has happened a time or two, but not nearly as much as it used to.

Stabilizes fuel for storage

Anyone who knows me knows I love to hunt. So when certain seasons come in, my boat tends to sit in my shop for extended periods of time.

Not only does the Marine PRO clean injectors, remove old carbon deposits from cylinder heads, clean/lubricates upper engine areas, but it even stabilizes tank fuel for up to two years. If I know my boat is going to be sitting for a while, I'll pour a half-bottle of Marine PRO into both my starboard and port-side gas tanks and it's ready to go. I've done this many times so far and every time I put my boat in the water, it'll crank right up without any hassles.

I'm going to keep using this stuff for the foreseeable future. I've been telling Sealock how much better my boat is running and he'll be trying some soon as well. This has been a really good product for me and if you have an older outboard, I certainly suggest trying a bottle or two. You're going to notice a difference.
