In an attempt to locate the missing high school bass anglers and boat captain from Obion County High School, the Obion County Sheriff's Office has responded to overwhelming offers for volunteers. Authorities are requesting that only experienced boat operators from Obion County help with the search. Boaters should be prepared for and experienced with swift-water conditions and inclement weather. A check-in system for all volunteer boats will be mandatory and will begin at 7:30 a.m. at the Botel boat ramp off of Wharf Road in Hardin County.
It is requested that larger boats with larger motors only assist. All boats will reportedly be checked in by TWRA or Hardin County EMA officials. A full tank of gas, fully charged batteries, working navigational lights and legally required safety equipment is absolutely mandatory and will be checked.
