In 2011, there were a bunch of IGFA world records broken in both freshwater and saltwater fishing. Rapala lures were responsible for 19 IGFA records. That continued Rapala’s dominance of fishing records recognized by the IGFA. Rapala lures have accounted for world records on every continent except Antarctica. Sufix landed five freshwater world records as did Storm Lures, both companies under the Rapala umbrella.

“Throughout the year, it’s always thrilling to hear about trophy catches from across the globe,†said Tom Mackin,   President of Rapala USA. “Even more so is when they turn out to be a world record. But the most exciting fact is that year after year, Rapala lures are the most trusted and relied upon brand to make a world record happen.â€
