RAILBLAZA USA Welcomes Professional Angler Ron Champion to Pro Team

RAILBLAZA USA has added a new name to its roster. Professional kayak angler Ron Champion recently joined the ranks of the Houston-based marine accessories company’s Pro Team.

The RAILBLAZA Pro Team is a group of outdoor enthusiasts skilled in customizing their boats and kayaks in ways that make angling easier, and who promote the RAILBLAZA brand by living and documenting their outdoor ways of life.

Champion brings extensive experience and a vast knowledge of the kayak fishing industry to his new role – traits to help expand RAILBLAZA’s reach in the paddlesport market.

Throughout his time fishing kayak tournaments, he has amassed more than 100 top finishes at regional and national events, winning a notable amount as well. Even more impressive is his willingness to tackle kayak tournaments at the international level, including competing at the Hobie Worlds event in Australia.

Champion will compete at the highest level across the country in 2020 as he participates in the Huk Bassmaster B.A.S.S. Nation Kayak Series, Hobie Bass Open Series and KBF Pro and Regional TRAIL Series.

RAILBLAZA USA Marketing Director Matt Phillips described the new addition as a fantastic opportunity for the Pro Team.

“We are extremely excited to start working with someone as well respected within the fishing and paddlesports arena as Ron,” he said. “His level of professionalism is unmatched, and we feel this is the perfect partnership for helping grow the RAILBLAZA and YakGear brands within the industry. We can’t wait to watch as Ron dominates the competition across the country this year.”

YakGear is a paddlesport accessories brand that moved under the RAILBLAZA USA umbrella in mid-November.

Champion, too, said he looks forward to what the coming months will bring.

“It’s a great honor to represent a company like RAILBLAZA,” he said. “My lifelong dream has always been to fish and compete at the highest level, and to do that I demand a lot out of my gear. Failure is not an option, and I’m stoked to now have this partnership with RAILBLAZA and YakGear.”

Champion and his family call Georgia home, but he grew up in Tennessee. When he is not out on the water, he enjoys spending time hunting, playing golf and collecting vintage fishing lures.

In addition to working with RAILBLAZA, Champion maintains relationships with other notable sponsors. Those include Hobie Kayaks, NRS, Picasso Lures, SPRO, Gamakatsu, Lowrance, Torqeedo, Cal Coast Fishing, Boonedox, Powerpole, Sunline, iROD, ICEY-TEK, DoomzDNA, Mission Baits and Built to Fish.
