Largemouth Catch and Release State Record Broken

JJ Schillinger from Post Falls, Idaho has officially broken the Idaho catch and release state record for largemouth bass. The bass measured 25 inches long and weighed 9.7 pounds. Because the catch and release state record is based on length, Schillinger’s bass eclipses the previous record, which was a 23 3/4-inch largemouth caught by Dale Stratton in May 2017.

Schillinger caught the new record on Cave Lake, which is one of the many small lakes along the Coeur d’Alene River. The big catch was also within striking distance of the overall weight record largemouth of 10.9 pounds caught in Anderson Lake.
