Is This The Best Bass Bite Ever?

by: admin

This is one cool video of a 9-pound bass destroying a frog as the angler reels it up to make another cast. This was posted on bassfishingalabama.com’s YouTube Channel over the weekend and we have to say– this was a fun one to watch! Check it out and let us know what you think of their awesome catch (both on rod and reel and on video)!

  1. Once in a hundred lifetimes strike, fight, and catch. And just as excited to witness a respectful release. That “Mumma” bass will spawn and give rise to more just like her. I tip my hat to you! Salute!

  2. I’ve had hits right at the boat, but that’s just epic. You would never think a bass of that size would even be interested or spend the energy chasing the lure down. Glad it was caught on video, awesome!!

  3. WOW…..and that was filmed/caught by a member of the TinBoats.net forum.

Goes to show you don’t need a $60,000 boat to catch ‘em.

    Just awesome!

    • This has nothing to do with a 60k boat since it wasn’t a tournament that he needed to get to a spot before 100 other anglers. That’s why you need a 60k boat, not when you are fun fishing. These 60k boat comments are getting old when a tin boat catches these fish.

  4. This is Russ. He and his wife live in a world I can only dream about. This is the most excited I’ve ever seen him. They are so mild mannered and seem like the nicest people in the world. I’ve never seen them catch anything under five pounds. I’ll put their Youtube channel on when I’m not feeling too good about the world and it reminds me that these places and people do exist.

  5. That is the reason I frog fish.. nothing like a topwater bite.. I’d say 50% of the bite is when your cranking it back to the boat for re-cast.. they love the frog that’s trying to get away.. Great catch.. great video (fellow jon-boat fisherman)

  6. Im going to buy a quadrotor rc helicopter and try to get some footage of one of the moments of greatness from an aerial prospective

  7. Absolutely the best bite captured on film….notice he is burning it back to the boat….his work on that lure ended already…unbelievable, glad he caught that on film.

  8. The best bass bite ever is the next bite you get when you are on the water … In saying that, how did this dude manage to stay so quiet after the bass smashed that frog ???

  9. I’m not trying to take away from this awesome experience one bit, I would love to catch an awesome bass like this while filming it. I just would like to know how 9 pounds 3 ounces come out of this when there was never a scale shown in this video. He also released the fish back into the water, therefore he could not weigh it later. It is a very nice catch and his size may be very close, It just bothers me how there is an exact size stated on the name but no exact weight known. All in all, nice fish. It is one I’d deffinately put on a wall. Also, nice catch. Now you have a nice and funny story to tell and a video to look back on.

    • It’s pretty obvious this is several video clips edited together. The fish is being caught with footage from a mounted cam. Then it switches to his hat cam and then suddenly the bass is in the boat and the video fades and it’s over the water with no frog in its mouth. The author of the video has lots of videos where he is weighing his fish on video. He obviously just didn’t film weighing this one. Doesn’t mean he didn’t do it just because you couldn’t tell this wasn’t one long video clip.
