Berkley Havoc has released several popular soft plastics the last few years and this year they are introducing some new twists in two new baits called the Flat Dawg and the Back Slide. The Flat Dawg is a soft plastic stick bait with a unique flatter profile that is said to give it a better quiver and better hookups on wacky rigs because of less meat to get around on the hook set. The Back Slide uses an interesting salt and weight distribution that actually causes the bait to fall tail away to the bottom. So it can slide up under cover and land more naturally on the bottom.

The Berkley Havoc Flat Dawg offers a flatter profile for better hook ups and wavering action.

  1. I had the chance to try both baits before they were released and I can say that BOTH baits are GREAT! These are both great additions to the already phenomenal Havoc lineup. I did have to go out and buy a spinning outfit to throw the Back Slide but it did not disappoint. Both baits are very soft and the action on the Flat Dawg is second to none. You’ll only get one to two fish per bait because of the softness; but for the price I will continue to buy them. GREAT JOB Berkley.
