Yamaha Launches Certified Pre-Owned Outboard Program

KENNESAW, Ga.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Yamaha Marine Group today launched its Yamaha Certified Pre-Owned Outboard Program (YCPO), a marketing tool designed to help Yamaha Key Dealers increase the value of used outboard inventory and create a competitive selling advantage for the participating Key Dealer.

“This program helps the Yamaha Key Dealer by giving the consumer another reason to buy,” said Dale Barnes, Yamaha Marine Group Division Manager, Marketing. “The consumer gets the security of knowing the outboard has passed a 75-point check and that its maintenance is up to date.”

The program specifies replacement of consumable items -- such as the fuel filter, oil filter, oil, spark plugs and impeller -- with genuine Yamaha parts.

Another consumer benefit is that the YCPO outboard will include either one-year Yamaha Limited Warranty coverage or one-year Genuine Yamaha Extended Service (Y.E.S.) coverage at no extra cost to the purchasing consumer. Participating Key Dealers will be charged a discounted cost for the YCPO Program’s Y.E.S. contract, if applicable.

“We know that dealers have an opportunity in today’s market with used inventory, and this program makes that inventory even more valuable,” said Barnes. “What’s more, authorized, participating Yamaha Key Dealers can really distinguish themselves by offering such a well-protected product to consumers.”

The YCPO program is limited to eligible pre-owned Yamaha outboards in stock and available in inventory that comply with YCPO Outboard Program eligibility requirements. YCPO is only applicable from authorized, participating Yamaha Outboard Key Dealers in the U.S.A. sold to a purchasing consumer residing in the U.S.A. Additional terms and conditions apply.
