Berkley builds some of the best tools and angler friendly convenience items in fishing. The TEC Scale and Culling system is another great product in this premier line-up.

This system is unlike any other on the market and starts with the dual sided back-lit display. This model is the first to offer this option and from our experience using it it’s a big-time benefit. No more turning of the scales or prepositioning of the fish to check the weight. Automatic culling and accurate digital readout cuts culling time down significantly.

The scale is accurate to 1/10th of one percent and has a memory that adjusts for fish kept. Simply put, it tells the angler which fish is next to cull. We tested the 35 pound model but a 100 pound model is also available. The scale is very durable and is covered with a Softorx TM finish for better grip and protection from the elements. The unit runs on two CR2032 batteries and has an automatic shut-off to prolong battery life.

The new Ergonomic culling clips included in the catch management system makes it a snap to weigh and clip a fish. The color coded clips are a plastic scissor style clip that holds to the lip of the fish but does not puncture it and reduces the handling time for each fish. Removal of the clip is also very simple. The kit comes with 8 color coded clips with matching rope. There is also a color corresponding weight card and marker in the kit as well.

One of the coolest parts of this system is the culling binder that has locations for all of the components. Its weather proof and makes storage a breeze.

We highly recommend this system and feel it’s a fair bargain based on the other like systems we have seen.
