In addition to touting the familiar black and yellow of his title sponsor Toyota Trucks, Gerald “G Man” Swindle feels fortunate to announce new or enhanced sponsor relationships with three other companies.

Swindle proudly brings Total Pain Solutions (TPS) to fishing. TPS, based in Fultondale, Alabama is a compounding pharmacy that produces custom topical pain-reducing medications for each individual patient. Now in their fourth year of business, they treat acute, chronic, and degenerative type pain with special emphasis on workers and athletes. Swindle, a former house framer, endured five back surgeries between the ages of 21 and 35, and has had ten bone spurs removed from his shoulders along his path to professional angling stardom. He exemplifies the patient TPS best serves.

“Gerald uses our topical anti-inflammatory on his back and shoulders with a lot of success. He’s a great example of our ability to help people, and we strongly believe Gerald can serve as a great example to thousands of other anglers who suffer from back, elbow, shoulder and other pain that hinders their ability to fish and compete effectively,” said Grady Phillips of TPS. Their custom produced topical medications are by prescription and available in 41 states. To learn more, please visit www.totalpainrx.com.

More familiar to fishing fans is another of Gerald’s new sponsors – Sealy Outdoors. Sealy produces the world’s largest and longest running unique ‘big bass’ fishing tournaments.

“Gerald’s a pro that relates extremely well to the grass roots angler. His humor and compassion for everybody that shares his love of fishing is remarkable,” said Nicole Sealy. “He’ll be in our booth to sign autographs at the Bassmaster Classic, and we’ll be utilizing him in some of our new advertising campaigns.”

Swindle has also extended his relationship with Wright & McGill to play a bigger role in marketing their patented triangular pointed, surgically sharpened Trokar hooks.

“Those hooks are so sharp, I’m having to use some of my new sponsor dollars to pay somebody to tie them on for me so I don’t cut myself,” cracked bass fishing’s funniest pro, who finished 9th in the prestigious 2009 Toyota Tundra Bassmaster Angler of the Year standings.

When asked how he was able to increase sponsorship support at a time when marketing dollars are tough to come by, Swindle said the following:

“Relationships. Relationships. Relationships. The business of life is simply two things. Mending old relationships or building new ones. I’ve built great friendships with these businesses and I’ve told them that if at any time the sponsorship relationship threatens our friendship, that I’d rather end the sponsorship than end the friendship.”
