Olympic gold medalist Brendan Hansen is expected to be at the Classic this week with friends to whet his appetite for bass fishing.
Hansen was part of the winning 4x100 medley relay team with Aaron Peirsal, Michael Phelps and Jason Lezak at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. Their time of 3:29:34 was a world record and nipped the Australians by six-tenths of a second. Hansen swims for the University of Texas, where he has set many NCAA records, and won numerous times on the international level. At the Olympics last summer he also was second in the 100m breaststroke and third in the 200m breaststroke.
Hansen lists wakeboarding, hunting and fishing as his hobbies on his Web site. He has a black Lab named Jack and a pound pup named Henry.
