Stratos 186XT Named To “Best Buys List” By Boating Life

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (April 8, 2008) – Following on the heels of the revolutionary and widely popular Stratos 176XT, the bigger, tournament-ready Stratos 186XT is quickly making a name for itself - racking up accolades and rave reviews since its debut. Most recently, the 186XT was heralded by Boating Life magazine as setting the standard for their annual list of “Best Buys” in the fishing boat industry.

In a glowing review by the editorial staff of Boating Life, the magazine said the Stratos 186XT “sets the standard for the Best Buy list, priced under $17,000 with a 90hp Yamaha.” In praising the rigged-and-ready fishing machine, Boating Life editors were impressed that “Buyers could take delivery of the boat in the morning and be fishing before lunch.”

The 186XT's combination of features, value and fishability has been a long time coming for serious bass anglers and local tournament competitors who want a new rig without breaking the bank. Priced at less than $17,000, the Stratos 186XT is an 18-foot, 9-inch boat that feels and fishes like a 20-footer. The additional 15 inches of space is added to the front deck of the boat, giving it the same fishing space of most 20-foot bass boats, plus the added convenience of features like a recessed trolling motor foot pedal and 7-foot, 6-inch center rod locker. Completely rigged with 90-horsepower outboard, 40-pound Minn Kota trolling motor, Humminbird electronics and RoadArmor trailer, this is the most accessible – and roomiest – 18-foot boat in its class, meaning anglers don’t have to sacrifice big money for big fishing space.

“Bringing value to the angler without asking them to sacrifice important fishing features is something we strive for at Stratos,” said Stratos Brand Manager Dennis Tobin. “The 186XT gives anglers more than they’ve ever expected for the price and we’re looking forward to seeing lots of them on the water.”
