NEW YORK MILLS, Minn., April 15, 2008. — Lund Boat Company’s new line of fiberglass boats is now complete with the start of production of the new 197 Pro-V GL, in time for the remaining boats shows across North America, announced Tom MacNair, Lund Boats vice president of sales and marketing.

Lund, which is considered the premier manufacturer of aluminum fishing boats, has combined the features and expertise that make Lund boats the ultimate fishing experience with state-of-the-art fiberglass technology. “We made sure we did it right,” said MacNair. “We made absolutely certain that we produced fiberglass boats that everyone of us could be proud to call Lund.”

The first fiberglass models introduced in 2008 were the 186 Tyee GL, the 186 Fisherman GL, and the 208 Pro-V GL. All three feature the exclusive Lund Integrated Power Strake (IPS) GL hull.

The IPS GL hull is engineered with wide reverse chines to minimize spray and maximize stability for a higher, drier ride. The hull’s big longitudinal strakes and broad, flat transom produce improved control. According to chief design and compliance engineer Paul Zarn, the IPS GL hull also provides faster hole shots, a flatter wake, better planing at slow speeds and enhanced fuel efficiency — especially when combing with today’s advanced outboards like the Mercury OptiMax, OptiMax XS and the supercharged 4 stroke, L4 and L6 Verado engines.

All four models deliver unprecedented backtrolling capability, exceptional forward trolling control, and superior fiberglass drift control. “Now anyone who loves fishing and boating, yet prefers fiberglass, can experience owning a Lund”, said MacNair.

The new 197 Pro-V GL joins the rest of the fiberglass family as one of the best options for big water sports and fishing.

The aluminum Lund Pro-V series have always been considered the ultimate tournament fishing machines and the new 197 Pro-V GL fiberglass boat will be no exception. The 19-foot, 7-inch 197 Pro-V GL is available in the dual console IFS/SE design as well as the single console SE design. And its unique setback console provides extra fishing room up front. The 197 Pro-V GL will also include the ProLong integrated livewell/baitwell system, substantial in-floor rod storage, and both bow and aft casting platforms.

All four of Lund’s new fiberglass models are equipped with the innovative SportTrak™ accessories system, something no other fiberglass boat can offer. Heavy-duty brackets mount securely on patented SportTrak™ channels that run along the interior cockpit gunwale so your rods, cups, and even a multi-function tool kit can be securely positioned virtually anywhere on the boat.

Each model will also come with the exclusive Lund ProControl GL auto-style console. It positions everything right where you need it — even the stereo — so you have maximum control and visibility for a safer, more comfortable ride.

The 186 Tyee GL, 186 Fisherman GL, 197 Pro-V GL and 208 Pro-V GL, are available now at your nearest authorized Lund fiberglass dealer.
