The inaugural Carrot Stix PAA tournament trail event presented by Phoenix Boats kicked off with a bang and even with cold front conditions the best in fishing brought more than respectable weights to the scales on Day 1.
Ben Matsubu leads after day 1 with a 5 bass limit weighing 23.15 lbs. He anchored this limit with a 11.64 lb beauty. In second is Florida's Shaw Grigsby with 5 fish weighing 22.10 lbs. He had a monster bass of 13.36 lbs anchoring his limit.
In third place was Chris Elliot with 5 fish weighing a very respectable 20.81 lbs. Illinois Chad Morgenthaler rounded out the top 4 with 5 fish weighing 18.68 lbs.
