The Illinois High School Association completed all but two of the Sectional Championships for High Schools in Illinois on Friday. Two lakes, Heideke and Lasalle were postponed due to high winds and will conclude tomorrow. Sixteen Sectional Champions and 2 runner up teams from each Sectional with be fishing the State Championship on Illinois's Carlyle Lake May 8 an 9 to crown the first state high school bass fishing champions.
Illinois is the first state to have fishing as a true sport. Over 800 kids in 16 sectional participated across the state Friday.
Weigh-in's were heavily attended and the response from each location was outstanding.
