First to Classify Bass Team as Athletic Sport...Big News
Bethel University, located in McKenzie, Tennessee, recently announced the formation of a bass team created under the direction of Garry Mason who serves as the team's coach!
Approximately 200 colleges throughout the nation have bass clubs that are recognized as student organizations or club sports. Bethel University became the first college in the nation to classify their bass team as an athletic sport. As with other team sports such as football, baseball and basketball, students are recruited and provided athletic scholarships when they sign with the University as members of the bass team!
