The Corp of Engineers is again accepting tournament permits for Georgia's Lake Lanier and that is welcome news for both business and anglers in that area. You might remember that a severe drop had taken the lake to all-time lows and no permits were issued last year. Numerous fishing related business's felt the hardship and many tackle shops closed as a result.
Lake Lanier has risen 5 feet in recent weeks allowing 13 boat ramps to now become available. Some will be for tournaments and others for the general publics use.
There is a great article in the Gainesville Georgia Times today announcing the move. To read it

The 2010 FLW Championship is scheduled to be held at Lanier.
