ESPN announced Wednesday night to its sponsors and current television providers that the outdoor block of shows will no longer be airing. That includes all programs less the Bassmaster Classic and the Bassmaster Tour events. The Bassmaster Classic coverage and Bassmaster Elite Tour events will still air in 2011.
"We will still be airing the Bassmaster Classic and all of the Elite Tour events as we always have" said Doug Grassian of BASS Communications. "It is a fact that all other programming will be eliminated and replaced with events based programming more in line with ESPN's core initiatives of providing the best event coverage for sports. Shows like SportCenter, Premier League Soccer and other event based programming will be included. We will be working on all of the ESPN and BASS properties to enhance what we provide there including digital but no firm plans have been finalized on that as yet."
Wired2Fish TV that began airing this spring will be part of the cuts as are all of the other programs currently slotted in those times under the ESPN2 outdoors block.
