Brent "Brody on the Lake" Broderick is on the mend. He is on a medical hardship from the Elite Series due to a left hand injury he got while fishing and aggrevated again, believe it or not, wrapping a Christmas gift for his daughter. By the way he did it initially catching a 10 pounder at Twin Buette, near O.H. Ivie in Texas where all the giants have been caught this year.
"I am getting better and we are moving forward," Broderick said. "After the MRI we decided to go with rehab instead of surgery, so the process is taking a little longer. Had we chose the surgery it was a 50-50 deal that it would work, but it could have been quicker back to fishing. I didn't like those odds. I am shooting to be ready to go again at the Fish and Chips in November. I have the best doctors, so I feel real comfortable where we are going. The pain is getting better all the time. I want to make sure all the fishing fans know that being away from this is killing me. I really miss being out there; I haven't even been in a boat."
Broderick lost most of his sponsors due to the economy and the injury but still has Mercury and Motorguide. Gary Dobyns is still with him as well. Several companies like Costa Del Mar have promised a return when he does.
Wired2Fish will keep you posted on his progress.
