Chad T. Keogh of Black Creek, BC found some of the first open water fishing of 2009 to his liking recently. He caught 10 smallies with a shaky head and managed to land this 5 pound 3 ouncer as well. Water temps reached 47 degrees. Great job Chad and nice smallie.
Chad let us know that the fish below was his first open water smallie this year. This was a 4 lb 12 oz smallie caught on a mid-lake hump that came out of 50’ of water up to 22’. He was using a 4” smoke w/purple flake tube on a ¼ oz football jig (inside). Nice!
